While most of us are in New Years Celebration spirit, let’s not forget about Maggie Doyne, CNN Hero 2015 and a founder of BLINKNOW organization. I did not knew anything about her, until I saw her clip posted in social media, explaining how grateful she is, to be in Nepal and thanking Nepalese people for accepting her as a daughter. This really moved me, and started following her in social media. I started going through her posts in her Instagram page and, learn more and more about the work she is doing in Nepal.
Today, she is the mother over 50 children and one of them was
little baby Ravi, given birth by a Nepali mother but raised by an American
woman, Maggi Doyne. She found him, when he was struggling with life and death.
Maggie took care of him and did whatever a mother would do, to save her child
from any danger. I saw baby Ravi’s progress in her Instagram page, every time
she posted anything about Ravi, it made me very happy. He started progressing
day by day to be a healthier baby from how he was before. I started thanking
Maggie every day from my heart for what she has be doing for these children,
not just by providing them with a basic needs but also becoming a mother figure
for them. And I could clearly see the joy that Ravi brought in Maggie’s daily
life, it was a pure love, nothing else.
Suddenly, I saw this posted in her Instagram page this morning.
maggiedoyne “I'm dying. I'm rotting away. I need him. I don't
want to live anymore. He was sleeping next to me and then he was gone. Ravi's
gone.”
I was devastated to learn this and could not believe at all for
a minute. Especially, when I saw Ravi’s video clip posted in Instagram, two
days ago, Maggie trying to teach him to speak. As always, I was very happy to
watch him progressing and seeing Maggie’s work.
Who could have imagine that the baby she found in such a poor
health condition, got his life back and was doing so well, would pass away just
like that. Why would a God be so unfair to the person, who has done so much for
others, by taking away a piece of her. Maggie loved everyone unconditionally
and Ravi was an apple of her eye. He was very small and lived a short life but
brought lot of happiness in Maggie’s life and to so many others, including me.
She never asked anything else in return expect for improving the lives of
underprivileged kids in Surkhet, Nepal.
This has made me realize that how unpredictable our life is.
Yet, we keep running after the things that does not really mean anything,
forgetting what really matters and taking things and people for granted, who
means a lot for us.
Maggie Doyne, a resident of New Jersey, United States. There was
no reason for her to leave United States and go live in a under developed
country like Nepal, where life is completely upside down. She saw her life in the
eyes of those poor kid, during her one visit to Nepal.
Maggie followed her passion and represented Nepal and the
Nepalese kids in front of the whole world. She started with $5000 now almost
everyone in the world knows about her work in Nepal. I can only imagine, the
pain she and her whole Blinknow team must be going through at this moment. But
at this time, Maggie needs our love and support. We need to stand by her side
and give her the world.
Thank you for taking time to read such a long article.I wish
everyone, Happy New Year 2016. Peace ..
Best,
